September has been a big month for Calon Law as it celebrates a birthday. Calon Law has been in business for 3 years. It was our personal surrogacy journey that encouraged us to start the business to help others that were looking to develop their families through surrogacy and to help the surrogates who were investing their time and energy.
Frequently surrogacy is a topic that can be misunderstood even by the professionals; lawyers, nurses, doctors, midwives, clinics. Sometimes, they say the wrong thing and can cause upset, unintentionally. There are so many unknowns about surrogacy and people aren't familiar with the phrases used. There are difficult emotions involved.
Our Directors Charlene and Stephen Ash have been personally involved in surrogacy since 2017. They are familiar with the fertility clinics and the processes used for IV, egg collection, sperm collection and embryo transfer. They have been members of some of the Surrogacy organisations. They have first-hand knowledge of the Surrogacy laws. They are aware of the surrogacy terminology, you don't have to explain anything to them. they understand, they have been there! They have had IVF, egg collections, failed embryo transfers, failed surrogacy journeys. Their baby boy was born through surrogacy in 2023 after years of fertility struggles. We want to make legal services more accessible for surrogacy and to make it easier for those parties involved in surrogacy.
Charlene Ash also celebrates another anniversary this month. she has been qualified as a lawyer for 20 years. It was 1 September 2004 that she first received her Law Society Certificate admitting her as a Solicitor. She completed her Law Degree with Southampton University in 2001 and then did her Legal Practice Course in 2002. She then trained as a lawyer for another 2 years from 2002 to 2004 for the Training Contract. She has 20 years of experience for Wills, Probate, Tax and Power of Attorney issues and can use that experience to help you to protect your money and property. This can save money for you and your family and save you time and prevent any disputes.
